Hello.  I am John Louis Thomas.  Single (no ex, no kids, no pets, no job…retired).  I’m in good health, Christian, US Army vet, and graduate of University of Southern California.  I have been a member in good standing of a local church for the past twenty five years.

At age twenty-five, I began writing as a way to analyze thought processes.  It struck me at that time that I had wasted essentially a lifetime on fluff and frivolity.  I’d better get serious about life if I wanted the best for myself.  How should I do that?  Start all over.  Reprogram my identity.  Try to get to the core of who I was, what I was, and why – then rebuild.  Writing about much of this was very important and continues to be part of my life.

Today, I find myself willing to share specific aspects of more recent writings.  In the past, there was a hesitation to share personal  thoughts on issues of controversy – especially in print.  However, I feel a stronger sense of taking the initiative to attempt a positive contribution to society.  I’m aware that my attempt may not be well received – even by the people I most love and respect  - my church, my friends, my family.

I am irritated by my own writing. I am like a violinist whose ear is true, but whose fingers refuse to reproduce precisely the sound he hears within.
